Jefferson County and Clear Ballot first partnered together in 2017 for post-election auditing, and when it came time to select a new voting system for the county, the Board of Elections felt that their strong working relationship with Clear Ballot, the durability of the ClearVote system, and the company’s focus on innovation made ClearVote the right choice at the right time.
“The pros outweighed everyone else for Clear Ballot,” said Election Commissioners Tiffany Ladd and Michelle LaFave. “Thte company is innovative and always coming out with something new. You never stay stagnant. We’ve leaped into the future compared to our old programming.”
For the team working to program, secure, and transport equipment, seeing the durability of the all-new ballot boxes Clear Ballot designed for ClearMark and ClearCast Go helped them feel confident that equipment would arrive safely on Election Day and was a strong factor in their decision to transition to ClearVote.
“It is much easier to get on and off the trucks thanks to the better wheels and brakes,” said Machine Technicians Zoe Tatura and Mary Hasselrig Draper. “We know the equipment will be kept safe and will come back undamaged.”
For both the teams on-site at the polling locations and in the office, the ease of use of the ClearVote system has helped save time and earned praise from inspectors.
