The Clear Ballot Difference

See how using Clear Ballot has benefited our customers.

When the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Election Commission realized it was time to replace their aging fleet of election equipment, they knew that the new system had to be modern, secure, and easy-to-use.

The Tribe contracted with Clear Ballot in 2025 ahead of an Advisory Survey that was sent to each of the Tribe’s 39,117 members in the fall of that same year. Ballot design and election programming were a breeze with Clear Ballot’s industry-leading software, ClearDesign, and tabulation software ClearCount “made scanning the surveys seamless” said Josh Elliott, Senior Attorney and election liaison.

The Tribe’s election officials were especially impressed with ClearCount’s patented Vote Visualization technology, especially when it helped promote transparency to thousands of Tribe members across the country during the adjudication process. The Election Commission had the ability to broadcast the adjudication to Tribal members across the country, allowing them to see what the Commission saw, and what decision was made on each individual survey - something not previously possible with the old system.

“The Election Commission was pleased with the use of the Clear Ballot software and equipment to design and tabulate this survey, and looks forward to using them for future Tribal Elections” said Elliott.
