During his time in Oregon, Steve pioneered using tablets in elections and automatic voter registration. While in the private sector, Steve assisted local governments with compliance with election laws, including Help America Vote Act and the Voting Rights Act.

Julie has served King County voters for more than 15 years as a champion of best practices in elections at both the state and national level. Notable accomplishments include expanding ballot drop box locations, adding two languages for more accessible voting, and pioneering prepaid postage for all registered voters.
