ClearVote 2.5 is Officially Certified by the State of Colorado

NASHUA, NH -- The Colorado Secretary of State's Office has announced the final certification of ClearVote 2.5, a paper-based voting system, for use in Colorado. ClearVote 2.5 is election technology company Clear Ballot’s latest release in the State of Colorado, featuring enhanced security and transparency features.

“We are very excited to bring a third certified release to our partners in the State of Colorado,” said Clear Ballot CEO Bob Hoyt. “We believe ClearVote 2.5 is the most modern, accessible, and user-friendly voting system on the market today, and we’re proud to bring this new technology to our customer counties in the state.”

Clear Ballot’s goal is to foster continuous innovation while staying true to its mission of tabulating voter-verifiable paper ballots. The ClearVote 2.5 system includes ClearMark, Clear Ballot’s ADA-compliant accessible ballot marking device usability tested by the renowned Perkins School for the Blind that provides voters of all abilities with full-faced, undifferentiated ballots. ClearMark also features our revolutionary thermal printer, which can print variable length ballots in seconds without the need for costly ink, toner, or stacks of expensive pre-printed ballots. All of Clear Ballot’s equipment is manufactured in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Clear Ballot currently operates in 14 states and supports over 45 million voters, including 5 counties in the State of Colorado. With each new release, Clear Ballot has been committed to working alongside their partners to implement recommendations and new features at the request of counties. ClearVote 2.5 received EAC certification in November of 2025 and is the company's sixth federally certified release in the last seven years.
